New Fame TV Series In The Works
Posted Aug 29 2012 by Pam

Looks as if Nigel Lythgoe, producer of such shows such as American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, is developing a remake of the 1980s TV series Fame.

Below are some of the articles online regarding this.

BBC News
Nigel Lythgoe Working On Bringing Fame Back To Television
"Fame" is gonna live forever, thanks to Nigel Lythgoe
Lythgoe in talks to reboot Fame
MGM TV & Nigel Lythgoe To Reboot ‘Fame’ As New Scripted Series
Nigel Lythgoe, MGM Television Team to Revive 'Fame' for TV

Thanks to Stuart Farrell for the tip about the remake.

On a side note, I know that I haven't been around for quite some time. I'm sorry about that.  I definitely had no intention of giving up on this site, it's too important to me, but I guess I needed a break from it to pursue other interests. If this new Fame series generates interest in the site again, I will do my best to keep it going.

Hot Chocolate Nutcracker Won Goldstar Award
Posted Jan 06 2011 by Pam

Debbie Allen's The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker which ran from Dec. 9-11 at UCLA's Royce Hall won the Nutty -- as Goldstar, the online discount ticket site, dubs its annual National Nutcracker Award. The award was determined by the average ratings given by dance-goers who bought tickets through Goldstar to the various productions of "The Nutcracker" that were available on the site.

With 2,418 ratings submitted for all the "Nutcrackers," Allen's creation topped the bunch with an average score of 4.9 out of 5, said Goldstar's spokeswoman, Patch Canada. And the competition wasn't a bunch of pushovers.

A Few Things
Posted Jan 06 2011 by Pam

You may notice some small icons above. I thought I would see how that goes in helping people spread the word about the site or a particular news post or page... if you want. It helps to share pages from a website on various social sites or email or even to bookmark the site.

I've also set up a Twitter account specifically for the site where I will post links to the news I post on the site. So if you have Twitter (or are interested in signing up with it) and would like to get messages there when the site is updated feel free to follow me.

Speaking of Twitter, I know of three Fame cast members who have accounts. I haven't had the chance to search and see if any others have accounts so I'll just add the ones I know about now and then if I find others later ... I'll let you all know.
